G.I. Joe comic books have been around since the 1940's and continue to be a major war hero source to this day. It seems every comic book publisher has at times been involved, with G.I.Joe comic book series by DC Comics, Marvel Comics, King Features, Ziff-Davis, Dark Horse, IDW, Hasbro comics and Devils Due Puplishing or DDP. Probably the best know is the 1980's G.I. Joe A Real American Hero series.
G.I,.Joe is a licensed property of Hasbro, which promotes G.I. Joe action figures, animated movies and more promotional property. Marvel's G.I. Joe, A Real American Hero issue #21 is recognized as a key issue in modern comics era, itroducing the character Storm Shadow and serving as an example of very visual story-line lacking dialogue.
