Captain America Comics

Captain America is one of the original patriotic super heroes.  First created by Timely Comics (later became Marvel Comics) by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby.  The first Captain America Comics book was published in 1941.  Captain America is the alter ego of Steve Rogers, who transforms himself into a near perfect human specimen, with peak levels of endurance, strength, speed , etc..  He actually has no super-powers.  The source of his power comes from Super Soldier Serum and Vita-Ray treatments.  Enabling Captain America to bench press 1100+ lbs and run a mile is less than a minute.  Very impressive!

Throughout the Golden Era, through Silver and Bronze era to present times, Captain America stands as the defender of America.  He has been a part of the Avengers, SHIELD, and The Invaders.  Helping to fight world evils including Nazism and Communism, Captain America continues to fight for all of us!
